Hi my lovely dolls! Sorry I haven't posted in about a week! I have been too caught up with work and music and blah...

So... I have found THE most FANTASTIC store in just about the WHOLE ENTIRE WORLD. Well, it's kind of like that for me anyway.

This website stocks genuine 1920's - 1950's pyjamas, peignoir sets, dressing gowns and nightgowns, swimwear, boudoir shoes and clothes for all you curvy plus sized women!

So I have put on hold some things and did have a few queries. I emailed the website and the next morning I woke up to find (yes, you thought correctly) a reply! Just go on the website and have a look at the wide range of stuff they have! There's everything there for retro girls or if you're just getting started in the retro world! I've already set my heart on two of the most AMAZING under bust corsets, which look as if they'll give me a great corseted shape! There are also some beautiful french made retro style stockings! Say no more! Moderately priced AND great quality! 

Pin Up Girl Clothing

This website had me drooling for hours, and not just because of the sheer beauty of the clothes, but also the prices are moderate! Yes, you did hear me correctly. Well, I feel that they are moderately priced, considering that they are good quality and are NOT made in China! I know that doesn't sound great when written but, to be honest, the only disappointing purchases I have had online were all made in China AND were really expensive for the quality.

Pin Up Girl Clothing is literally marvellous! I have spent hours gazing at everything from delicious party frocks, to beautifully designed swimwear. I really do recommend this website, as well as What Katie Did!

Also worth mentioning is the fact that both websites have live chats! I personally have used both for my queries and the service is impeccable. It only takes a few seconds and the other person is starting to type! They give great advice and include all helpful points to help with your question.

My Top 5 Girls of the 50's

(Not in any particular order)

1. Bettie Page

Bettie Page was famous in the 1950s for her pin up photos. Her trademark black locks and cute bangs can be worn even today, which is why she is in my top 5.

 

2. Marilyn Monroe

Marilyn Monroe was an actress, singer and model. She is known for her bleach blonde hair and red lips. What I like best about Marilyn is her breathy singing voice AND her perfect figure - not too skinny like today's models.

3. Elizabeth Taylor

Liz Taylor was an actress and it is widely known that she married 7 men, one of them twice. My favourite thing about this doll is her violet eyes!

4. Diana Dors

Mighty beautiful, this one! She was originally Diana Fluck, but you can kind of guess the reason behind her name change... and she was an English actress. She was kind of Marilyn Monroe's English equivalent. But she shouldn't really be compared to Marilyn, as they were completely different! I just love everything about her... she is amazingly gorgeous. She also starred in Adam Ant's Prince Charming music video (1981).

5. Jayne Mansfield

Jayne was an American actress in film, TV and theatre. She was also a singer, nightclub entertainer, model and one of the first Playboy Playmates! She packed in quite a lot in her short life, including many publicity stunts. She died in a car accident at the young age of 34. 20th Century Fox tried to palm her off as their version of Marilyn Monroe, but again, comparing two of Hollywood's glamour girls isn't really possible. She also became the first American actress to have a nude role in a Hollywood movie in 1963's Promises! Promises!
